Bio

Angelo Dragone is a Research Engineer at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. Operated by Stanford University, SLAC is one of the 17 US DOE National Laboratory.
The laboratory conducts research and operates facilities in the fields of Particle Physics, Astrophysics, Photon Science.
Angelo Dragone studied microelectronics engineering at the Polytechnic Institute of Bari, Italy and he received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering in 2006 jointly from the Polytechnic Institute of Bari and from the Scuola Interpolitecnica di Dottorato, Turin, Italy. Since 2000 he has been working in the field of radiation detectors where he is specialized in the design of low noise multi channel front-end electronics and sensor interfaces. Between 2004 and 2008 he was a research engineer at Brookhaven National Laboratory, and since 2008 he has been with SLAC where he now leads the Integrated Circuit Department within the Advanced Instrumentation for Research (AIR) Division. His main interests are in mixed signal ASIC architectures for pixel devices with high segmentation, in particular for photon science applications. In recent years he has been focusing primarily on the design of high frame rate large dynamic range x-ray cameras for the Linac Coherent Light Source (LCLS); the first X-ray free electron laser hosted at SLAC.
